Edge Browser live view & playback video fix for LTS/Hik & OEM variants

pdf version of this here

I found some crappy scripting code served from the LTS/Hik devices that relies on CORS (cross origin scripting) blah blah. Doing the following may help you get live view and playback working again, then you do not need to use Internet Explorer mode any more :-)

  • Go to edge://flags/ (just type it inside of your search bar).
  • Search for: Block insecure private network requests
  • Change the option to Disabled
  • Now at the bottom of the screen will be a Restart option for the browser click that
  • Only if you are having authorization problems
    • Change http port on Recorder to something other than 80 say 90 or 8080 for example then in your browser use: http://123.123.123.123:8080
    • If the recorder supports https try using https:// prefix on the IP Address/Domain with the respective port generally its 443 eg: https://123.123.123.123:443

Be aware that after any Micro$oft updates this may need to be set again after Micro$oft 'helps' you. Be aware of what the setting does & use entirely at your own risk

See the image below for reference, after that you should be able to live view and playback - ensure you do have the plug-in installed ... Tested on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11
